Dr Samuel Edwards

Founder and Principal Osteopath of Aldinga Osteo & Co.

Samuel established the clinic to create a regenerative health space for the local population. He incorporates unique and previously elusive services to attain better health outcomes for his patients, including support for people with chronic conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes and neural conditions. Osteopaths in South Australia were once upon a time... just a fairy tale. Relocating interstate was essential to acquiring qualifications to bring Osteopathy back home to the Fleurieu.

Samuel's predominant treatment approach incorporates what we call  "direct" Osteopathic techniques. What this means is he will gently cavitate (click) a joint if it will support healing. The majority of his patients are surprised by how gentle and specific this can be achieved. This is experience in practice that his patients appreciate. Other techniques include stretching, pressure and massage techniques.

Samuel also trained at the best university in Australia for Osteopathy in the Cranial Field, known by some as Craniosacral Therapy. BLT and Functional techniques are often incorporated in these teachings. This approach is what Osteopaths call "indirect,"  due to it's subtle and gentle nature. These are the types of techniques he will perform on your grandparents, those recovering from surgery or people that do not consent to direct techniques. Samuel will normally guide people to a 20 minute consult, unless the patient requests, has complex needs or is a new patient to the clinic.

Being a general family practice, he enjoys working with those suffering from respiratory issues, digestive issues and lymphatic congestion and treats your standard musculoskeletal complaints, including  headaches, neck and back pain, arthritis, sciatica, vertigo, repetitive strain and overuse injuries, pregnancy related discomfort, tendonitis and sports injuries.

Vanessa Otto

Vanessa first discovered yoga at the age of 17 as a means of physical exercise and quickly fell in love with the interconnectedness of breath, mind, energy and body. After years of practicing both at home and in various studios with different styles of yoga she decided there would be nothing more enriching or fulfilling than sharing her passion and practice by becoming an instructor.

In 2019 Vanessa obtained her Masters Certification in Yoga on a partial scholarship and has since been teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, muscle recovery and restorative classes within the local community. Feeling inspired and invigorated by her first two years of instructing she then obtained her Yin Yoga Teacher Certification in 2022, allowing her clients to reap the benefits of Yin style yoga.

Vanessa strongly believes that yoga is for everyone, no one is too inflexible, too old or too young, too big or too small. When asked to summarise what she wants to bring to her clients she has answered;

“I want to share and guide the art of body, mind and breath practice to build strength, balance, awareness and harmony in both the mind and the body. I want to show how versatile yoga can be whether someone would like to break a good sweat, build muscle, increase flexibility and mobility, reduce stress, explore meditation, nourish the nervous and lymphatic systems or almost anything else, yoga is one of the most helpful tools you can use”.

Drawing on her versatile and in-depth yoga study and experience Vanessa is excited to offer her clients at Aldinga Osteo & Co the opportunity to engage in one-on-one or two-on-one sessions. This will allow her to uniquely tailor one hour long sessions suited specifically to the clients wants, needs and goals while being able to take into account any pre-existing conditions and/or injuries and modify accordingly.
